Actually the manga is 10 times better, which is far from being the case for shonen stories in general, like Hajime No Ippo. Anyway, Ippo is the standard "weakling-with-tremendous-potential-and-iron-will-that-becomes-the-ultimate-beast-through-blood-spitting-training" kind of guy, like 90% of characters whereas Onizuka is in a league of his own. I can't even understand how this contest can be so tight. Another way of seeing these contests is "which guy would you prefer hanging out with?". Answer's clear.

Onizuka is extremely bland on all sides, most of his ''character'' comes from his stubborness and freedom. The comedy side (Which really isn't important.) sometimes even hinders Onizukas character. And the poll isn't about ''which guy would you prefer hanging out with?'' .. It's the ''Guy who you would cheer on the most''.. Your way of seeing it is wrong.. But that's what I'd like to say.. We humans see different things differently, it's just your opinion, and you can't claim anything 100% .. That makes you small-minded and sad. | |
