Mecha Base Anime in 1990-2000

Guys..

In 97 or 98 or till 2000 i watch mecha base anime in tv.. But i cant remember it name since its aired while im still kids.. XD But the story is like this..

1. Hero is pilot robot for military academy
2. Hero joins war against other nation
3. I forgot how hero end up in enemy nation
4. Hero join and fight for enemy nation and become enemy of his own nation
5. All his friend in military recognize him because of his combat skill
6. He destroy main ship of his nation
7. Actually his nation is bad guy
8. The main ship or destruction weapon looks like robot head
9. War ended

I really want to watch it again.. But cannot remember its name.. Hope you guys can help me.. Thanks..

ps : I remember 1 more.. The hero father is robot mechanic.. in 1 episode, his father joking about making toilet in his son robot..
