Post Naoki Urasawa Manga Discussion

ok so i've been reading one of his most famous works Monster and the latest PLUTO. I believe that Urasawa is one of the best mangaka out there and all his ideas that turned into manga are great. I personally will recommend all his works to anyone who wants to enjoy a psychological twist. His art is also realistic (people's face looks like real one) and you could see that all bad guys look ugly or not attractive except for Johan Liebert who looked attractive for a bad guy

Some of his works include:
-Monster
-PLUTO
-20th Century Boys
-21th Century Boys
-Master Keaton (I'm dying for anyone to scan and translate it )

Three of his work has already been adapted into anime. Moreover, New Line Cinema has also recently acquired rights to create an English language film version of Monster. Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Josh Olson, will be writing the screenplay for the project, which the studio expects to be released in 2009. (taken from wiki)

Well i thought of making this thread so that fans of his work like me can discuss anything

Also people please don't spoil 20th Century Boys for me cuz i'm about to start it soon

So discuss and please don't spam. Enjoy posting

I finally found a thread to post this... I finished Pluto yesterday and I really enjoyed it. It's good manga, but what kind of a crappy ending was that? There were still so many unsolved things.

First I wanted to know more about Gesichts past. Why and how exactly did his "child" get killed? And why did this Persian flower selling kid shoot him so that he died? I just don't get it. And the ending was rushed anyways...

But what annoys me the most is this teddybear. I mean, he just sat there all the time and made comments like he was the evil mastermind behind everything that just happend. But than the manga ends and you still have NO clue at all who or what this teddy really was. He just looked like he knew everything and then he dies (?) without him doing ANYTHING for the plot and without us knowing what kind of being he was. So what was the point in introducing him in the first place???? That just pisses me off

Sorry guys, but I just had to write this down. Now I feel a little better

billy bat had barely started when this was made, hadn't taken much notice yet, and happy isnt exactly one of his more popular works. besides it clearly says some of his works, not all :X

I'm really quite shocked that this thread was ignored, just goes to show the quality of manga readers back in 09.

I don't think that was rly the issue, the thread probably just got pushed out. I mean monster won first MotW back in early 09. the section also wasn't nearly as active.

How often do you hear anything other than monster commented on? Especially back then. Even among manga readers around here, there was only an influx of Urasawa after the 20th CB boom.

Plus lack of activity would've kept the thread on the first two pages for a while : o

Yes, Paddy-Pie is a lovely mod and active mod, helps that there's a hell of a lot more manga readers around too m.m
I mean I only started reading manga properly say... over a year ago?

20th cb was also up for motw, anyway I just didn't get how the quality of manga readers had anything to do with it :X

no idea when I started seriously reading manga. 06 I guess. well it's nice that the activity on AC has picked up, at least. for a while I had to leave the site for lots of discussion.

err, I guess I should stop here, this isn't exactly the place, forgot I was here.
