so the trainer of the next fighter that ippo is going to fight is that guy with the mohawk. this entire chapter was just hilarious imo

i just started watching the anime & i really wanted 2 read the manga until i saw that it had more than 700 chapters

.. does the anime follow the manga or does it go off into a completely different story as it goes on??

it follows the manga pretty much, the anime is roughly around like chapter 400 since one anime episode is a couple chapters.

I'm considering reading it but the 859 chapters makes me think twice about starting it. What are some good reasons to read it. (without spoilers incase I decide to read it)
