im a big fan of the anime ^^

Yeah, give it a try. Just read the first two chapters and then compare it to the anime, I think you'll find a difference in speed there ^^

Plus the manga art is something else, I find that it's really not that well reflected in the anime, though grantedly it does a pretty good job anyway.

I think it's somewhere between 30-40 chapters right now. Pretty long ones.

and yeah 07 ghost is awesome ... I've been reading for about half a year now ... much better then anime imo

Mmm... They really screwed up the whole part with Mikage in the anime.
That whole thing where Ayanami presents him with a choice was repeated like 3 times, for example.

I'm a few episodes behind, yeah the anime messes some things up but the action scenes are still sick.

True, and I especially liked the episodes with Bastian. That way your suspicion of him goes up and down all the while was excellently done in the anime.
