i thought s/he would use its own force to her/his advantage. while it chomped her/him s/he puts the pole so that the force of the it closing its jaw its pierces itself

Guessing how important she has been,and used i doubt that is the kind of way to die,without much evidence other then being eaten(no blood,or showing of injury after being eaten)

Most of the important character deaths havnt happened right away but over time and knew it was coming.

I was just thinking how reading this manga was similar to watching band of brothers with regards to deaths happening through out it, and even some main or not so main character deaths.

If you haven't seen the HBO original series band of brothers I highly recommend it. It's about the American Airborn during world war 2. So if your not American you may not like it as much, but it's a historical realistic and accurate portrayal from the point of view of the Airborn soldiers.

or maybe she is fighting inside. she still got the stick. i think it isnt as tough on the inside as it is on the outside. she could pirce it from there and hurt it but it would move around more if she already did something like that

Or the long shot alternative is that she punctured one of the glands that secretes a natural paralytic present in it's body....

I think it's been longer then that, because they started talking a bit after trying to treat some wounds and they even say something along the lines of whats wrong it's just been sitting there for awhile now. However we don't know how long awhile is and how long they have been regrouping / tending wounds. Also after glasses guy tells the facts about digestion and they are like, so their may be a chance to save them. The other guys says, shouldn't she be goo by now? And instead of saying something like it's only been 5 minutes they say so what we still have to try. This adds to the fact it's probably been longer then we think.

This leads me to think that a little bit of time has passed we just don't know how much because they didn't do a great job this chapter in laying it out for us.
