I started reading this because the anime is currently airing. To be honest, I expected it to be a drama/romance shoujo (yes, i didn't read the genres) because of the synopsis. The first part is actually misleading for me, especially the part of the main character being a tomboy. I think it's just a background check, basically. It just turned into this game story which was pretty exciting. I think I was just caught off guard for the most part. But, it turned more like into a story of tradition for me which is interesting. I smell romance and drama, sure. But the whole literature-strategy-card game thing sort of dominates. I'm not even sure if a lot of people will be interested really. The art is fine and it's not that dragging. I dunno, we'll see. Edit: There is an anime discussion but this is about the manga. |

hmm I've started reading the manga as well sadly there are only 10 chapters scanslated yet (which will probably contain episode 1-5)  would be nice if there were more releases since I wanna know how it turns out :x |

Chihayafuru is just amazing! At first i thought i historical card game PFFT! When i watched the first epsiode, I instantly fell in love with Arata and Tachi ( OMG HOTNESS)!! Now where the anime left off, the translated manga still not released, so I am still waiting for more chapters.. The Best Josei, Sports Manga EVER!
