Thoughts from Chelsea vs PSG:

I thought a draw was well deserved, we were quite sloppy in the first half with possession but that's because it's pre-season. I thought second half was much better but we still lacked that passing zip. I thought Essien was very good, Mikel looks shit tbh. Hazard was decent but in the first half he was playing basically alone. Lukkaku was crap and Kakuta is well...not up to this level. I thought Marin was very good, great feet and for 7 million, he is a steal. Piazon was great too, he is one definitely to watch out for in the future. I am very excited by the capture or potential capture of Oscar, we have the flair in Hazard and Marin, all we need now is a playmaker to distribute the balls and Oscar can do that, my line-up for Chelsea for the new season based on what I've seen so far:

Cech
Iva--Terry--Cahill/Luiz--Cole
Essien--Lampard/Oscar
Hazard--Mata--Marin
Torres

Playing Oscar deep? He would be much more effective as a CAM which is where he usually plays, Marin will most likely be a sub and Mata out wide.

But Marin has been very impressive and he is good enough to play out on the wing for us, Oscar deep, you could see it actually, he would be protected by Essien. This will only work if Essien is deep, if Mikel is deep, Mikel + Oscar will be too weak to handle opposing attacks.

And wow, STAGGERING! SENSATION! “Manchester United have agreed a staggering £26 million deal with Sao Paulo for Brazil sensation Lucas Moura.” That's 26 Million for an untested Brazilian in Europe, i mean I understand if Chelsea would do that but for Sir Alex, who would earlier quote Hazard as being overpriced, this is crazy.

The official United website are saying that Lucas's agent and club denied that a fee had been agreed, I doubt they would get him for less than £32m after all this negotiating.

Well honestly, i wouldn't pay anything more than 20 Million for an untested player but you know, this transfer market is crazy with over inflated prices for talented young players. :/

Lucas is a good player but i don't think he is worth all this money, you can understand Hazard, The French League isn't a bad league and he has played in the UCL but Lucas...

Yeah it is a lot of money to pay, I guess the reason is because of the potential they see in him. He does look promising though; great overall speed, amazing acceleration, a whole lot of skills and although he is small he is pretty strong. I know it is a lot but I would love him at United as long as it doesn't push Nani out of the squad, would rather lose Young any day of the week. SAF has also denied a fee had been agreed.

On a better note, SAF has said he is looking to bring in some more payers before the season starts and rumours are suggesting he was given another £50m to spend. It could be Lucas + CM or Lucas + a LB, maybe even Lucas + CM + LB is we can get some good deals. I heard we are preparing £8m bid for Baines, if we get Lucas + Baines for £40m then we could have £10 left over for somebody else. If we don't get Lucas then we could have enough for some more established players.

He won't push Nani out, SAF likes to rotate his squad so we will see, i honestly don't seeing him pay 30 Million for Lucas though, if he does he will sound like a hypocrite cause he said Hazard was overpriced.

Aye, I think if he rotates well then he could pull it off, having 4 wingers will give good coverage for injury. Still, it might mean some don't get much playing time which is what I am worrying about, Valencia has been a beast on he right last season so I can't see him losing his place. In my opinion Lucas is probably worth £20m but because of the club he is at and the overpricing of Brazilian players it will cost a lot more. I would love him at the club, from what I have seen of him he has skills, speed and doesn't go down much so he could be very good.

I'm also worried about this RVP rumour, while he is a great player and if paired with Rooney they could potential destroy the PL, he is almost 29 and injury prone. Also, if he comes and Berba goes then we will have 4 strikers to rotate, that would mean be would probably stick to a 4-4-2 so Kagawa would either have to play deep in a CM role or not at all. If we don't switch to a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-1-1 with Kagawa in a CAM role then his purchase seems kind of pointless.

As always there is an element of risk, just look at Anderson. He might be very good on youtube but i don't like how every Brazilian club is demanding 20 Million plus for every of their players. I mean look at Marin, cost 7 million and he's already to be shown a great player (early days of course).

RVP i think is a risky option, though i think we should make a cheeky bid for him ourselves, we need a striker with class, not too expensive and RVP can play in midfield too...
