What do you guys think of Allen Iverson possibly returning to the league? Personally, I think an NBA team should give him a shot, for at least a year.
are we talking about practice?

He's been trying to come back for a couple of years. No one wants to take a risk on him. He was lucky when the 76ers gave him a chance. No team is desperate enough to want him on their roster. Plus, he refuses to play in the D-League. Apparently, he thinks things have to be done on his terms.

How was he lucky? Have you seen the 76ers? They haven't been relevant since he left, and they weren't much before they scooped him up either. If you ask me he did as much for them as they did for him. Also, I can't say that I blame him for not wanting to play in the D-league. It's not like he's some no-name street baller, he's A.I. His stats and achievements in the game alone should warrant him being above D-league status.

On one hand their combined awesomeness should be bottled up and sold in small portions to the world but I think even in small quantities it would still be too expensive for most people to afford let alone handle.

The problem I have with that is that he was more than willing to play in Turkey. He has to earn his position, which if he is still good it would be easy. It is true that the 76ers were never really relevant after he left, but he did bring a lot of commotion and unneeded stress to the players, coaches, and the GM. I think the GM at the time almost quit because of AI's antics. Truthfully, he has to humble himself. I just don't think you can overlook his history because he put Philadelphia back on the map. He has to be willing to work for it, show up to practice, and be a role player if that's what the team needs. He has amazing stats, but that doesn't win rings.

You mean right now? He might make the top ten, but barely.

That's fine, I'm all for him proving himself and earning his position, but how is putting him in a D-league team gonna do that? Hence why I said give him a contract for 1 year, with the option to either terminate it or extend it based on his performance. Also, who's to say he's still the same A.I. who played for the 76ers? That's the problem I have with this argument, is that people operate under the presumption that he's still the same guy. Honestly, there's no telling whether his time playing overseas has caused him to grow as a player.

And no, having amazing stats doesn't win rings (look at Lebron James), having a strong supporting team does. And the 76ers were never that.

You do realize you can compliment a man with having to say "no homo" don't you?
