Ok here is what happened. One day out of the blue I tried to open the Word application. The previous day it was working fine. But when I tried it just opened a white page and stuck there. The program wasn't responding so I used task manager. I tried again but the same thing happened. I did a restart but again the same. Here comes the crazy thing. After the restart I had that idiotic idea to try to open a Word file. So I tried to open an essay of mine. The result was that everything froze. I had to restart the computer again. And then it hit me. I went to check out the file. Believe it or not the file had changed. I mean, it was no longer filename.doc but something like filename.pho or something (it was .ph+something. I think it was .pho). Even the icon had changed. It was a light blue square with something white in it. I deleted the file and never opened the Word application again. I guess I'll have to install office again but what the hell was that? A virus or something?

That's definitely not it because I'm the only one using this pc for the last 2 years and I didn't mess with command prompt at all or anything else that I'm not aware of. Thank you very much for replying though

| Ultimate Hokage | I suppose that's the only solution, but I am very curious to find out what happened and if I can do something without reinstalling it. So no, I haven't reinstalled it yet.

Bleeh...even if u end application the actuall prgramm still runs on background..so u should have gone 2 process tab and end the Microsoft office exe or w/e ....which was runnin.......but i think its too late now..maybe it was some bug or might be ur hard dirve corruption....which sometimes leads 2 program not responding.....re-install Ms Office..and also check if ur hard drive is also doin okay or not |
