Default Sony BDP-S350 and Burned DvD's Audio Problem

For some reason my new BDP-S350 player acts up with burned DvD's i made using ConvertXtoDvd and/or ImgBurn. The problem is no sound when i start the movie. Only when the movie goes to the first chapter and starts from the beginning do i loose sound. If i FF/RW it not even 1 second i will regain sound. Skipping chapters also will return sound. Anything but returning it to that very first chapter that starts the discs will regain my sound. The discs play just fine on my normal DvD players and my PS3. Has anyone had this problem before? Anyone know of some setting i should try on the player or when i burn my discs? I have used convertxtodvd to make and burn the image to the disc and then tried using the .iso with ImgBurn . Both gave me the same results. Thanks if anyone can help.

Im using Verbatim DvD+R discs and burning at x2 speed.

This is the disc/burn drive info from DVD Identifier

So, they just don't play correctly in a computer? You could try PowerDVD Player, I don't know if VLC, MPC, or GOM can play DVDs out of the box, without a DVD codec installed.

I would say try a different media, my desktop has a DVD±RW drive (it is a Vaio, but I think the drive is a Panasonic), but I found that it now only prefers to burn DVD-Rs. Also, give Nero a try or try DVD Decrypt's built in burner. =/

Have you tried Sony media to burn onto?

It was the burning software i believe, i switched around a ton to find a good one and now DvdFab works just perfect.

Hi

I have exactly the same problem - same machine, same software.
Discs produced by CVX and burned by CopyToDVD play without problem in a Pioneer stand-alone player and in the computer, but in an S350 - no sound!
Pressing the Stop and Play button in quick succession fixes it, but it's a pain.

I did try DVDFab, but the resulting disc wouldn't play at all. In fact I had to power the S350 down and up again to get the confounded disc out.

Can you expand exactly what you do to get CVX discs to work properly in an S350 without the need for a bunch of button pressing?

Thanks.

-Pete

DvDFab platinum i DL from Demoniod. Im burning to DvD5's so i shrink most movies some but the program does everything. Just put in the DvD. Start DvDfab. Select movie only or full copy, select your output device(burner usually) then at the bottom select DvD5 or DvD9 disc that your burning to. Then just hit start. Every disc i make now plays just fine weather its movie only or full copy.

Hi

I have the answer to the original problem - no initial sound with DVDs originating in ConvertXtoDVD. Following a tip on the VSO forum I upgraded the firmware of the BDP-S350 to version .13 and the problem was gone!

Nothing to do with the quality of the DVD blanks or the burning software. Discs that seemed faulty before are now A-OK.

Sure it was version .13?

I ask because for some reason version .13 was pulled and (as far as I know) the only download currently available is version .10

Anyway, version .13 fixes it for everyone else, so you must be quite unlucky.
