It usually sleeps when i do.. so It never really turns off unless the battery dies.

Not often enough.

I keep it online most of the day, especially when I'm off from work. It'll stay on from 8:00am until like anywhere from 10:00pm-2:00am.

sometimes when my computer gets really hot i turn it off so it doesnt over heat

I actually care about my computer, so I usually turn it off every night before I go to bed. The only time I keep it on 24/7 is if I'm downloading a big torrent.

i turn my laptop off everynight because i have an aspire 6920 - so when it's plugged the acer logo on the top stays brightly lit and is like an annoying nightlight.
