Its just a type of memory with a higher capacity(thus better than DDR2). By the looks of it, the laptop will take 2x 1GB sticks of PC2-4200 DDR3 memory.

PC2-4200 is the type or memory. 2GB is the amount allowed total(between both sticks)

To max it out(you want to as its dirt cheap now) you will want a 2GB kit(2x 1GB sticks)

Make sure its the 2x1GB and not a 4x512MB and not a single 2GB stick and you should be set for your max amount of ram.


As for the CPU, its ok but not that powerful. It will get daily activities done with ease but if your gonna do things like video encoding, it will take quite a while to process them.
