Hey
If you download it directly on AVI, there is a big chance that is a bad encoded movie. Many guys encode the mkv version and make avi, rmvb, mini mkv, mp4 for psp, ..... but they don't know how encode and their videos don't work or have a bad quality.
The best way is to download the original mkv from the original fansub team and convert it yourself, don't use re-encoded version by anonymous

Does it work in other computers?

It may be that your DVD player doesn't support whatever the movie was encoded in, along with it being a bad job on encoding.

I would also recommend using InfraRecorder instead of Nero, unless you are making a DVD movie, not DVD video disc.

First of all, older DVD players aren't compatible with all video formats. I've seen the same error in my DVD player but it worked fine after I re-encoded the vid.

Here are some tips to get that working.
1. DON'T USE the 'data DVD' option in nero express, but use DVD Video, and burn it. nero will re encode it for you.
2. Other way is to re-encode it yourself. Download format factory. install it and select "All to AVI". when there go to Output setting. Here in the video encode section select DivX. Set the video size to DVD-PAL or DVD-NTSC. Convert the vid and burn it on DVD. There you go.
