It's fake.

Aliens would be too smart to leave behind something like that, especially if they had human compassion and took care of their dead, like I believe.

Besides, any alien or extraterrestrial creature would be beyond anything our imagination could conceive. If you notice all of our monsters and nightmares are just combination of earthly creatures. We could never comprehend true outside life.
Those are my thoughts..
