Japan: Third of Male Youth Has No Interest in Sex..

Huffington Post has some shocking numbers for you that should come as no real surprise if you’ve been following the problem of Japan’s shrinking population. A new study conducted by the Japan Family Planning Association found that 36% of males 16-19 years old have no interest in sex or relationships which is a 19% rise from when the survey was conducted in 2008. The Wall Street Journal found that the number for females aged 16-19 not interested in sex was an astounding 59%!

This isn’t good news for Japan as current projections have the population shrinking by a third by the year 2060. That means that in about 50 years most of the people you meet from Japan will be old, older or oldest. Which makes me wonder who is going to be left to produce that sweet, sweet anime that I get my fix with?

It seems like instead of worrying about what kind of anime is being produced for consumption we should be more worried about if there is even going to be an audience to watch said anime in a few years. Do your part, move to Japan before starting your family.

So what if male teenagers do not have sex with girls and produce babies. They should at least decide when it is the right time to have sex and repopulate Japan. Some religion even belief that the only time you should have sex is when you are married and want to start a family according to my psychology class at the university I go to. Though the shrinkig in Japanese population is indeed bad news. Japanese teenagers probably lost motivation for having sex at all.

I would think that this 16-19 age period is quite difficult for teenagers. It's the time to study and try to pass all the exhausting entrance exams. Those things are the most important thing at that moment, since they have a huge impact on your future. For example in Japan it is more important to get into a certain University rather than to have good grades in one that is not so popular. For many companies this means dedication. If you get into a good University, you're pretty much secure even though you would not do so well in the actual studies.
