ya they explain it in the manga, the writer thought it would be funny, the chinese word for testicles is kimtana, and he thought itd be hilarious for people to walk around saying gintama because it can be so easily confused with kimtana..

i still dunno why i think gintama is mm not that specific (i mean gintama is not a person but naybe a group of people who they all are in some way Gintama's)
and also gintoki told some1 of his friends in 2nd episode "how can you call urself a gintama!?" so mm.... gintama is sumthing not someone i guess..

Nice episode. I wonder if Gintoki can really fight or he's just all talk. He seems to hold his own on some fights but next you see him running for his life. Reminds me of Kamina from TTGL.

I get it why the animators created this anime. The aliens are like the Americans that took away the samurai way of life when they opened Japan to international trade. More likely portrayed in the movie "the last samurai". I can see how this anime will turn out to be... Well, I still do think that the real blood of the Samurai still lives on the proud Japanese race. It still is a shame though that the Samurai way of life to disappear.

Still, if the Americans were not to open the doors of Japan, someone would do so in the near-future like England or Russia. I wish I were Japanese :(( such honorable people....
