Honda Goro, although very young, experienced a lot of hardships.

After his mother, Chiaki, died, his father was the only one left for him.

His father, Honda Shigeharu, is a baseball pitcher but his injury kept him playing for the minor team. Seeing Goro so sad especially when he heard that his father would retire from baseball, Honda Shigeharu decided to try out as a slugger as adviced by his friend Shigeno Hideki who was also a baseball pitcher.

His father died in his debut caused by being hit by the 160 km fastball of the major leaguer, Joe Gibson Sr.

After that, Goro’s kindergarten teacher, Hoshino Momoko, decided to take care of Goro. Goro grew up as a motivated baseball kid who would be leading Mifune Dolphins in the little league.

Victory was never easy for him. The first season of major depicts a life story of a kid who faces challenges head on. However hard it is, to give up is never an option.

Major is a story of family, friendship, and dreams.
