After only quite recently watching Gungrave, the idea of an assasin anime appealed to me, but I started watching Phantom, expecting a poor story plot and characters which would not be as enthralling Harry McDowel or Brandon Heat. However, Phantom has completely surpassed my expectations. The characters are well-developed, although most lack an explained history, the plot moves quickly and the action is first class. It is more of an action/drama than an action/thriller but this is to flesh out the characters a bit more and add personality to what is an extremely impersonal line of work. It is the third anime I search for each week after Naruto and Bleach. Not quite as good as the former but I hold it that sort of esteem..
