Tantei Opera Milky Holmes is a story about four girls in the detective school. Each of them has unique ability, called Toy, which they use for detective works. Milky Holmes consist of Sherlock, Cordelia, Nero and Hercule; they also have different personalities. Milky Holmes have a rival thief group which disguise into the detective school.

The anime has childish looking characters, but the story is not exactly what their looks are. Milky Holmes have to struggle through different hardship and obstacles which united them together and make them into better detectives.

The story is funny and has some values especially regarding friendship. It is a worth-watching series.
