The animation style is certainly unique and very gothic. This is by no means a happy go lucky anime, with rarely any comedy or cheery bits. Mostly drama with mediocre action interspersed. Story wise, you will spend literally the entirety of the series before you completely understand who is bad and who is good and in the end it all sort of falls in a gray area. I personally find the ending a bit frustratring, don’t get into this if you want one of those everybody lives happily ever after endings. It might have received a lower rating but I like the originality.
