The movie follows the adventures of 15 year old Ryuji Aigase who’s father had recently passed away after saving a girl from being hit by a train. Ryuji, who is a descendant of a line of ancients is chased by a monster to Kyoto 1200 years in the past where he awakens powers he didn’t know he had in order to help with the war. The movie is set during the Heian period and sports some magnificent art work especially around the end of the movie. One of the things that really stood out were the battle scenes between the "Nobles" and the "Oni" where some really good animation is put to use. As a whole the movie is quite entertaining but does lack some body too it and as such can at times have its slower moments. The ending is somewhat rushed and in a sense disappointing because it leaves you asking yourself what happened around half of the people but still gives a wholesome finish to the otherwise beautiful movie, definitely worth watching.
