If you are looking for earth destroying battles and epic moments that carry on through three or four episodes, then go watch bleach or dragon ball or Naruto.  Not that there is anything wrong with those shows, they are really good and fun to watch.  Macross Frontier is a different kind of Anime.  Its character driven, pure and simple.  Sure you get some cool fight scenes in the sky and some great animation as well.  But the relationship between the characters is where this show wins.  When there is action it is heavily invested into developing the characters.  There are no wasted moments in this show.  And for a show that only has twenty five episodes unlike the giants like One Piece or Reborn, it is a solid entertaining show.  Don’t let the 255 rating fool you this show is good..
