Description: The adventures of the Avatar after Aang - a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenage girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra.
Good try

Legend of Korra is definitely a good watch at the end of the day, but there are simply too many irksome factors in the show that prevent it from being as good as the original Avatar series.
For example, while LOK attempts and somewhats succeeds at a more mature and sophisticated setting of Avatar by emulating the "roaring twenties" it fails to justice by its themes of inequality, hardships and revenge due to the frivolous love triangles. What’s more, the main character of the series, Korra, is someone I personally find hard to relate to, or to even like. While she is aware she is the Avatar and makes promises left, right and centre to the people of Republic City, she spends 80% of her time chasing her love interest and only committed to her Avatar duties once it became "apparent" (for one episode) her love interest, Mako, did not reciprocate her feelings.
The Legend of Korra cast in general is very, very interesting, especially given the fact the supporting characters are far more lovable and likable then Korra and Mako (at some point Mako’s brother Bolin was debunked from main to supporting character for all intents and purposes), e.g. Meelo, Lin and Tenzin.
I must give credit where credit is due however and compliment the creators on their villain, Amon, the leader of the radical organisation known as the Equalist whose goals are to forever "equalise" Republic City through the abolishing of bending. Though, having said that, they ruin Amon’s character and motives almost entirely in season finale - as far as I concerned that is.
All in all, LOK is a good try at an sequel but it is very disappointing in a law of ways. I recommend it to pretty much all type of anime viewers, but I caution them to watch the vastly superior original Avatar series first, and if they’ve already done that, they shouldn’t hope for much of an improvement.
