I am a huge Battletech fan, I have been one since 1989.  This cartoon, I won’t use the term anime, is based on the a series of books that takes place in the Battletech universe.  Goggle somerset strikers if you want more information.  The animation is poor, the scale changes from scene to scene.  At times its hard to tell which giant robot is which.  The story is crammed together and diluted.  the action scenes are choppy and hard to follow. 

During combat scenes the characters switch to "enhanced vision" mode which looks like the PC game which was pretty popular at the time.  This is cool for about a minute, since it adds to the choppiness and of the show. 

This cartoon is fine for kids, though.  The bad guy is really bad and the good guy really is good, no character greyness which generally makes for a good story the drama is there though rushed.
