I must say I hadn’t heard of Darker than Black until I happen to stumble on a promo preview—while watching Bakemonotagari—for its blu ray release in Japan, and became instantly drawn to wanting to watch it. Boy, I’m glad I did and then though I’m not quite finished with watching it just yet; I certainly don’t think it’s a very far off conclusion for me to say that this series that anime fans of mature taste will definitely eat right up. Solid storyline, with complex characters—especially Hei, who acts quite differently than those of his type (meaning contractors)—and great action (and some humor, too) and fight sequences too make this a definite watch for any serious anime fan. It’s great to know that there will be a season 2 for such a kick-ass series because it is absolutely worth one..
