It’s great to see Oda’s original opening of One Piece before it became serialized. Since the animated version was created after Luffy gained nine of his crew members, some changes were made at the beginning of the episode. However, the overall story still follows the manga pretty closely. I can’t believe Oda wrote this when he was only 21. As you may have noticed, some characters in this special episode closely resemble some older characters from the actual series. It’s interesting to see how everything turned out the way they are right now in One Piece..
