Gun X Sword is probably one of the most boring animes ever made. The color scheme is bland, the story is plain, the characters are average, and it lacks edge. Unlike shows aimed at the youth, this series aims at a mature audience, but brings out the question of why. The audience is lost. There is no humor (unless you count arguing humor) and the mech battles are a less average. What is really disappointing is that the main character Van had a lot of potential due to is design, but sadly could only be taken at face value because his personality was generic. There was no hook to it as I kept forcing myself to see the series through. Despite playing it safe and using old cliches, it managed to wreck any chance of becoming midly entertaining. The only interesting part was the final battle and even that was average at best. Overall, I recommend not watching this show and encourage viewers to simply pass this series by.
