Yugioh Zexal Reviewed by Jubei

In the begining, Yami said let there card games.  It was goofy to begin with, then suddenly, people started disappearing into the shadows.  People liked it. Some didn’t.  A decline in quality began with the ‘Seal’ shows, but it was still ok.  Then GX happened.  First, let me just say that like the other reviewers, this is only a personal opinion.  I’ve only seen about 5 mins of this show, and I gotta say, the D-Gazer concept is a good thing.  As compared to the nearly 25 episodes of GX that I forced myself to watch just to try to deny that it sucked, I’m already more interested in the new one.  When I think of GX, I think: "This is Schwarbage" -Bruce Wayne So, my stance is if you don’t like this, but did like GX, I’m not surprised.  Then we were treated to cardgames on motorcycles.  That was stupid from day one, I mean, Motorcycles?  Then, once you watch 5D’s, you see it was actually pretty good and the best part about it, it went dark.  Going dark is what made yugioh popular I think, and it is possible that I just didn’t watch GX long enough for it to go dark.  At first, with the whole "King of Riding Duel" it was just ok…then when people started dying it got awesome.  It lost a lot of its luster after the people came back though, and not because of the people being alive, its just that whole next arc went more childish and away from its dark adultish ways.  Now this is the part you have to consider.  I could sit here and push my opinion on you about why yugioh is great, but the fact is, its a childrens card game and show.  They went back to a cast of children (I think so far) and it seems like it may just stay on that track and try to appeal to yugioh’s newer fans.  Especially compared with some of the schwarbage anime that other people like, I find it funny that there are so many hater comments on the first page.  Particularly those comments along the lines of ‘I never liked yugioh, I only liked the first one.’  I mean, people who don’t like the show don’t watch it, and not watching an anime here makes it less likely to comment on it, but clearly there are comments there ;)  Many are saying because it in space or something like that yugioh is dead.  If that’s the case, yugioh has been dead since cheap cards have been created.  Seriously, the game these days forces everyone to use the cheap cards because you don’t have a choice if you want to win.  Imagine a world in the anime where everyone had god cards and yami’s deck, only with slight differences. That’s what I think happened to the game.  In any case, I will watch this anime to see what the duels are like.  Everything else is filler material to me anyway, and if it just so happens the story is good that is fine with me.  To the naysayers: Think about all those people who think you’re strange for watching anime to begin with.  Don’t be on their level :D It may not be your cup of tea, I don’t know anyone who likes every anime.  It should pretty much be safe to say though, this show is made for people who like yugioh and it might get good.  Motorcycles grew on you, didn’t it?  Who wouldn’t thought that would happen?  I’m looking forward to seeing where this one goes, even if I may not like its catering for lolicons and younger fans.  Yugi started as a kid, right?
