Based on Richard Adam’s 1972 book of the same title, Watership Down is the story of a group of rabbits escape from tyranny.  How can you say no to fields running red with blood, danger around every turn, and a hallucinating bunny chasing the rabbit version of the grim reaper.

Do yourself a favor and at least see the movie, if you don’t read the book.  This is one of those stories that you will hear referenced in pop culture when you least expect it.  References to Watership Down are in Lost, Donnie Darko, Robot Chicken, and even the manga Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans.
