Don’t let my 9-out-of-ten rating fool you. I love this show immensely and it is definitely in my top ten list now. I just have a hard time giving anything a 100% rating. If I could, I would have opted for 98.5%. As has been the case since I first came across the world of Japanese animation, I am constantly surprised and delighted about how wonderfully the writers, artists, editors, etc. meld cultural, historical, and other elements from the East to the West to create a world that is absolutely unique and riveting. I don’t want to write about the show’s plot or characters, and I pray that doesn’t make this review absolutely useless, but I felt the need to urge all other fans of fiction, especially dark comedy, to check this out. I would recommend it to any of my friends, even those who aren’t familiar or used to the crazy world of anime. The elements that create top notch fiction and fantasy are all there in bucket loads, no, rather truck loads. These artists have created a universe that combines comedy, drama, action, romance, intrigue, mystery, gore, sex appeal, and so much without watering down the poignancy of any individual element. Simply fantastic. If you are looking for something a little bit old and a little bit new, but wholly unique and exciting, I highly recommend you hit play, kick back, and be ready to watch each of the episodes back to back until you can’t put off your work or going to bed any longer…Enjoy!
