you need to understand the logic of no naku koro ni. because maria had her eyes closed when beato preformed magic, and "repaired" the candy, beato could have just replaced it with the one maria had just given her. not everything the anime shows you is truth!

im getting confused...

Maria is either annoying or creepy but never normal (and never scary, really), and her mother Rosa is worse. Pissed me off that Maria started talking even more like Rena in this one. Her "Hooo, Oooo" thing sounds like Rena/Hanyuu's "Hauu Hauu" but now she's even repeating herself at the end of her sentences "Kana~, Kana~" like Rena did. Yuck, I really hate Maria AND her mother.

That poor girl, beaten by her worthless mother ... breaks my heart. (no matter how crazy she is)

After each episode, I find myself more and more inclined to agree with Battler about Beatrice. I see no benefit for a witch to reveal herself except cause panic and fear. Man's first reaction to frightfull things is to try and destroy them, which in other times lead to forming the Inquisition. Besides, It has been said that feats of technology are no different than magic in the eyes of a technologically inferior civilisation. As for the travel between "fragments", watch Noein for a more scientific approach of the subject.
