interesting but sad way to end it...... kinda wanted hakuro to come back at the very last minute but it was a good series

i wouldn't call it a sad ending, there's a strong hint at the end which suggests that Hakuoro might have returned.

It felt like Hakuoro whas the one she whas looking at at the end, really hope so.

Hakuoro may have come back at the end. That's left for us, the viewers, to figure out. Kind of like the ending to the Elfen Lied anime.

I personally am going to assume that he did return. After all, that ceremony separated the beast from the kind human.

i want him to have come back so im saying he has awsome anime :)

as for Hakuoro, i would say there was a 95% chance that he returned... for one, when Aruruu and the tiger looked up it was as if they sensed something familiar, and then that very happy face on Eruruu at the end shows that she saw someone she loved...

thank god I don't feel cheated like watching Ryu Oh Sei this time. Well, I suppose this is a good ending. It's kind of watching Lelouch's ending somehow, but my, how agressive is Eruruu she just jumped him lowl

This is a sad ending, granted they hint something at the end, but why they always do such kind of endings.

I'm a bit lost. In the memory Hakuoro give the ring to Mikoto's and his child (I assume), and now the ring is in Eruruu's possesion. So, does't that mind, that she is Mikoto's grand- grand- something daughter, thus making him her grand- something dad?

As surely some time passed on, legends were born ect.

Or what?

Och, yeah. This anime has OVA that is IMHO very poor quality (and ecchi, so not for AC.net)

I wouldn't have liked a really cheesy happy ending, with everyone surviving and so on
Yuzuha was really sick, so I hadn't even expected her to live this long, and anyway it was her wish to become a star for her loved ones!!
Wether or not hakuoro came back... oh well, I think he didn't come back just jet

It would have been nice to have Hakuoro come back...hmmm ending made me a little sad.

After watching this anime a couple of times and reading the Wikipedia article about it, I finally got a grasp of the plot... I thought it was all set in the past, but it's set in the distant future... I think you all should read it too so you would understand what happened and why it happened... Anyways, about the ending, I would like to believe that Hakuoro came back after all, though I didn't mind if they actually went ahead and made it a cheesy happy ending, showing Hakuoro and Eruru's kids...

Aquaplus leaked news of a Utawarerumono 2 game beeing developed for PS3, so we can hope for a 2nd season sometime next year I suppose.
